I will say that Mr Joshi has done more research into the very important topic of reef aquarium lighting than any other one individual...KUDOS to him for doing this for us. He was this year's recipient of the MASNA award for doing so much for everyone as regards to this very confusing topic of lighting.
That being said, I knew I was out of my league while struggling to understand the charts and terminology being presented. I saw alot of the "menfolk" nodding with understanding while I had a bemused look on my face. I still think they were faking it, but I digress. I was sure I had totally wasted this hour of lecture time, due to my inability to follow along, until my ears perked up at some key phrases like, not having to change bulbs so often and 250 watt setups performing at the same light output level as some 400 watt set ups. Less electricity being used would mean less money spent! Less frequent purchase of bulbs in theory, oh my! we have hit the jackpot now....my recommendation is for you to go visit his wonderful site on reeflighting at
www.reeflightinginfo-arvixe.com
Be sure to read the guide on how to use the application to compare items such as bulbs, ballasts and all kinds of combinations of them, as well as his performance analysis of them.
