Although the subject matter is a little on the dry side, Adelaide Rhodes did a pretty decent job of keeping the most of us interested. I am certainly glad that we weren't "raided" by the Houston police because of viewing "pod porn"!
Adelaide has spent the last 7 years trying to find a reliable means for copepod aquaculture. By having the pods readlly and hopefully inexpensively available, we, the hobbiests, would be able to keep some of the more demanding and difficult to feed species such as mandarins and seahorses.
There are over 12000 identified species of pods. They re in fact, the largest source of protein in the oceans.
One very useful piece of information I took from the lecture is that if you try to culture pods on your own, be sure to use phytoplankton that is between 5-20 microns in size.
