Caulerpa eating worm?

When I got home last night the house was completely dark. I turn the tank light on for just a minute to check on my algae and the new snails, and I see something strange.

It looked and moved almost like an inch worm. It was tiny, and white (mostly clear) I couldn't really see legs, more like just little feet. It was eating my caulerpa. I've noticed a lot of the "leaves" have chewed on places. I turned off the light and ran upstairs to get my camera, I got back down, turned on the light and it was nowhere to be seen. I had already scared it.

Next time I'll get my camera BEFORE I turn the light on.

Any ideas what it is, I decided since it was eating the caulerpa it couldn't be that bad. Or well... maybe it could. In saltwater anything is possible.

I have not heard of that one.

John, you better watch out b/c you will likely see all kinds of worms in your tank eventually.

Ahh! My science teacher is also telling me that we're going to disect worms. The only worms that im cool with are blood worms(frozen ones, I dont even like touching frozen ones). I hope I get used to worms.

I'll try to sneak up on him in the middle of the night and get a picture, that is, if I see the thing again. My first thought was literally "How did an inch worm get in my tank? Why is it white?" Then it was, "Why is it alive in salt water?" Then it went to "OMG how big is that thing going to get?" Lol.

Since it was eating the caulerpa, I tried searching for any worms that eat it, but I couldn't find anything. So much for it being a friendly pest algae eating worm. That most likely means it grows up to eat things I don't want it to eat. Everything that ends up in my tank is bad.

Well, in salt there are spaghetti worms, bristle worms, fire worms, peanut worms, coco worms, and so on and so on. That is just right of the top of my head. And doesn't include any of the food worms we use.
